Request for Proposals: HBCUs invited to reduce energy bills and install EV charging through new initiative

The Accelerating Climate Resiliency & Renewable Energy @ HBCUs Initiative is elated to declare the unveiling of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Acquire Energy Reduction Technologies and Solutions.

Accelerating Climate Resiliency & Renewable Energy @ HBCUs Initiative is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Receive Energy Reduction Technologies and Solutions. This RFP is open to all qualified HBCUs who are interested in reducing their energy bills by up to 50%, improving their campus infrastructure, and installing EV charging solutions for campus stakeholders. The RFP includes detailed information on the Initiative. HBCUs are encouraged to review the RFP carefully and submit a proposal if they want to collaborate.

The Initiative has agreed to provide engineering, procurement, construction, financing, operating, and maintenance services to lower the energy and possibly facility costs for 20 HBCUs within the next 24 to 36 months which estimates savings over 25 years of $2B. The solutions will include energy efficiency, energy management, solar power, and EV charging based on the energy needs of the campus.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 2/21/2023. The Offeror will review all proposals and select the HBCUs that best meets the requirements.
